Erica Day, MPH

Erica is the Operations and Finance Director of the KHRC. Erica was born and raised outside Baltimore, MD and obtained her undergraduate degree in Health Studies-Science at Georgetown University. She went on to get her Masters in Public Health at the University of Maryland, College Park- School of Public Health. While she was getting her MPH, Erica worked at the Children’s Inn at NIH, which is a residential “place like home” for sick children and their families who are at NIH participating in experimental studies. It was during this time that she developed a passion for being part of cutting edge medical research and innovative thinking.

After completing her MPH, Erica moved to San Francisco to work with Dr. Shlipak as his Research Coordinator. For the past 11 years she has managed his research program and also manages Dr. Peralta's and Dr. Estrella's as well as aids junior investigators in managing their growing research portfolios. Her own research interests lie in race/ethnic minority groups and she has one paper published on acculturation and kidney disease. She has also written a review article with Dr. Shlipak on biomarkers for incident CKD.
