Rebecca Scherzer and Michael Shlipak have published a paper in Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation finding that urinary biomarker clusters predict risk of CKD and premature death in HIV-infected women.
Dr. Scherzer was acknowledged by the editors of Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety for the exceptionally fine quality of her peer reviewing of manuscripts submitted during 2014.
She was also informed that at the annual Editorial Board Meeting the top reviewers of 2014 were announced for JAIDS, the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes. Dr. Scherzer was selected as one of the top 5 reviewers for the Clinical section of JAIDS.
Dr. Carmen Peralta's paper, "Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, incident cardiovascular events, and death in elderly persons: the role of functional limitation in the Cardiovascular Health Study", was selected as one of the top papers of 2014 from the journal, Hypertension.
Dr. Meyeon Park, MD was 1 of 18 physician scientists to receive the 2015 Clinical Scientist Development Award from the Doris Duke Foundation. It is an award of $486,000 over 3 years!
Dr. Park's project is entitled, "Improving Cardiovascular Risk Stratification in Kidney Transplant Recipients."
