Chi-Yuan Hsu, MD

I started my research career focusing on chronic kidney disease, investigating both its causes (such as obesity) and consequences (such as cardiovascular disease). Currents areas of interest include the bidirectional relation between acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease, the transition from chronic kidney disease to end-stage renal disease and the epidemiology of acute vs. chronic kidney disease. I also engage in collaborative translational research of biomarkers in kidney disease. In recently years, I have devoted increasing time and effort to mentoring post-doctoral research trainees.
