Jonathan Amatruda , MD

Jonathan Amatruda is a clinical and research fellow in nephrology at UCSF. He did his undergraduate training in anthropology at Yale University, where he focused on the ways culture affects the understanding of health and illness. He completed his MD at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and then a residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center before coming to UCSF for fellowship. He is interested in the development of biomarkers of kidney function and injury to enable earlier diagnosis and more accurate identification of kidney diseases.
