Dr. Bauer is a general internist and clinician investigator with a clinical practice based at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC). His academic focus is dedicated to the research of longitudinal patient-reported outcomes, prognostic biomarkers, and geriatric urology. He completed his medical school and residency training in Internal Medicine at UCSF and was then awarded a K award to evaluate non-pharmacologic, non-surgical treatments and biomarkers for bothersome urinary symptoms among older men. He is also studying the relationship between urinary symptoms and renal function.
