Dr. Ascher is an academic hospitalist offering care for adults in the hospital and is Associate Professor at the University of California, Davis. He has clinical interests in antimicrobial stewardship, point-of-care ultrasound, and clinical reasoning. His research focuses on improving our understanding of acute and chronic kidney disease using novel urine kidney biomarkers. He also has an interest in epidemiology and causal inference methods.
