Dr. Julio Lamprea Montealegre was awarded a K99 award from the NHLBI! His project is titled, "Closing the Cardio-Renal Preventive Treatment Gap Among Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Chronic Kidney Disease: An Implementation Science Approach." It is a 2 year project that will then convert to a R00 for an additional 3 years.  The proposal seeks to design, implement and evaluate an educational intervention to increase prescription of cardio-renal preventive therapies among patients with type 2 diabetes and CKD.
